TangramCare is a healthcare software company focusing on patient behaviors. Its mobile screening platform uses branching logic to streamline and personalize screeners targeting patient behavioral issues like sleep, cognition, depression, abuse, and pain, etc. The digital screeners deliver a fun and engaging experience, which dramatically boost users' completion rate and time comparing to traditional paper-based behavior questionnaires. The platform collects patients' responses, generates behaviorally informed care plans, and uploads all consolidated data to patient's medical records. To a care service provider, this generates a complete picture of patient's condition, leading to better outcomes and lower costs.
As the product owner, I was leading a team of designers and developers from creating, delivering, and maintaining 30+ cross-platform screeners, while also connecting with customers and doing field studies. Interviewing and observing users' behaviors played a major task in my role, as the screeners often deliver a very personal experience with sensitive subjects to the users. When it came to topics like suicide, depression, and abuse, keeping the screening process engaging without triggering emotional distress was the key factor to the platform's success.
The screeners are all cloud-based, HIPAA compliant, and work on any mobile devices and computing platforms. To achieve this standard, the team spent an equal amount of time on setting up the infrastructure and QA testing as the development itself. The result was phenomenal, as any user, from all age groups, with or without knowledge of computing and operating mobile devices, can navigate the platform with ease. There's even voice assistance for users with vision impairment.
TangramCare is now under another company. For more information about the screening platform, please visit here.
